Pastor Teint Saung is the Myanmar Union Mission’s Communication, PARL, AWR, and HCM Director. He was born into an Adventist family, is a Layman Child, and is the third of five siblings. His wife is Yaw Swe, and He has four children: Ruby Saung Myaw, Jonathan Saung Bawm, Joshua Saung Ying, and Angel Saung Win. In March 2004-2005, he graduated with a B.A. Religion, Industrial minor from the MUAS (Myanmar Union Adventist Seminary. He began his ministry on June 1, 2005, serving concurrently as an evangelist and church pastor at Mayan Church, as well as overseeing the Namti and Moegaung City small groups in Kachin State, under the Upper Myanmar Mission.
He then taught at a secondary school in Wuyan Adventist Seminary for two years. In 2009, he began serving as both the church pastor of Waing Maw Church and the principal of Waing Maw Adventist Seminary, a role he fulfilled for three years.
In June 2011, he was appointed to serve as the AWR Kachin producer at the Upper Myanmar Mission Headquarters in Pyin Oo Lwin, along with his wife, Yaw Swe, who served as a radio announcer. They faithfully held these roles for ten years, until 2021. During his time there, he also held the positions of AWR Pyin Oo Lwin Studio Director for eight years and Pyin Oo Lwin church pastor for five years.
In March 2022, he was elected for Myanmar Union Mission’s Communication, PARL, AWR departmental Director until 2025. His dedication and commitment to his work are truly commendable. As a passionate pastor, he has demonstrated the ability to strengthen and advance the department under his leadership. Notably, through his efforts, Hope Channel Myanmar was successfully launched—a milestone achievement never before realized in the Myanmar Union.
Furthermore, he significantly expanded the Adventist World Radio ministry by introducing and broadcasting new language programs, including AWR Asho Chin, AWR Lisu, AWR Rakhine, and AWR Kayah.
In May 2024, Pastor Teint Saung completed his Master of Arts in Ministry (M.A.Min) degree with an emphasis on Intercultural and Urban Ministry at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) in the Philippines.
He is a deeply dedicated and passionate preacher and minister of God, having delivered numerous sermons and broadcasts in Radio and online media platforms. In addition to his pastoral calling, he is also a gifted Adventist artist, having produced a wide range of albums, gospel songs, and nature songs that contribute meaningfully to the ministry.
